Baker
This part of the Baker Family traces the pedigree from the Bakers who lived in Stoke-on-Trent at the end of the Eighteenth Century, to their settling in north Shropshire in the Nineteenth Century. The book may be previewed free of charge here.
The Furnivals pre-date the Battle of Hastings. Gerald de Furnival was born in 1060 in Normandy France. The family has been traced by Joe Pessarra up to Baroness Furnival, (Maude de Neville) who was born in Shrewsbury in 1381 and died in 1433. She married the First Earl of Shrewsbury, John Talbot in 1407.
Then the trail goes cold.
Located in several settlements near Market Drayton, the Furnival Family Tree can be traced from the 18th Century up to the present time. Assuming the surname was misspelt by a clerk, a couple of obscure links may be with John Furwood(66E01) of Knighton or John Furnifar of Aston both of whom lived in the 17th Century. One part of the family, which settled in Moreton Say in the 18th Century can be traced through three generations. Another family settled in the Parish of Mucclestone and can be traced through 4 generations into the 20th Century. A book recording over 100 members of the Furnival Family can be previewed free of charge here.
Lindop
The Lindop Family tree can be traced right back to 1205 and my eBook records that moment when Robert de Lyndop changed his name from Robert de le Leyis and established the Lindop Family. This interim version of the book concentrates on the family that grew up in Haslington and Barthomley near Crewe. The book may be previewed free of charge here.
Roden This book lists all members of the Roden family, and the variant spellings of their surname (Rhoden, Rhodon, Roaden, Roden, Rodens, Rodon, Rodon, Roodon, and Rowden) as recorded in the printed parish registers published by the Shropshire Parish Register Society. The book may be previewed free of charge here.
